Happy 2nd Birthday Kenzie Rae!

We saw Yo Gabba Gabba! LIVE! last night and had so much fun! Kenzie got to see Muno and Foofa up close and even got to pat Foofa on the head!

Nana and Papa bought her a Brobee backpack, Foofa headband, a boombox light-up toy and a YGGL! tour shirt!

I can't believe my little girl is a KID now! I spent some of the morning with tears in my eyes watching her little-grown-up-self play with her toys and dance around the living room. :)

December is Upon us!

Kenzie's Birthday is on FRIDAY! I'm going to be the mom of a 2 year old, so crazy! My mom is going with us tomorrow to see YO GABBA GABBA LIVE! (Her BDAY present from mom and dad)
A week from Sunday (the 12th) is MY 26th Birthday! I can't believe I'm one year closer to 30!! :(
I don't wanna grow up yet. That weekend of my b-day is our annual "Bell X-mas Party." We get together every year with my mom's two brothers and their families. (her older brother has chosen not to involve himself in the festivities/family , LONG story.) I love being with my family, they mean the world to me. Since I grew up with one sister I've always cherished the time with my cousins. I always wanted more siblings, that's why I'm on a mission to convince Russ we NEED more than two kids, at least three, but my goal is four! haha

We got family pictures done and some for Kenzie's 2nd Birthday. This is a HORRIBLE picture of my collage I got but in person it is so freaking adorable. It captures the many faces of my bubbly, intelligent, happy and silly little girl. She is my fuel, she keeps me going.

We (by we I mean Russ) found my camera and I'd have to say I was quite bummed. I was so set on getting a new one....I'm not saying I won't get a new one, I just might have to wait a tad longer....

What a weekend!

So it started Saturday afternoon when Kenzie had a weird "shart" in her diaper. I didn't think anything of it, we went to dinner with some friends and she was doing great. I got woken up by screaming around 3am and I went to check on her. Her whole room smelled of poo so I got her up to change her. IT WAS A MESS! All up her back, up on her stomach, all over her jammies and bed. Uck. It was diarrhea. So gross. So she was all whiney and upset so I took her to bed with us to calm her down and to get some sleep. By 5am she was awake so I went to put her in her bed. (she had gone to bed around 11pm and needed more sleep!) I heard her crying again around 7am so I went in to get her and she was, again, covered in yuck.

Sunday continued with bouts of the runs, she wouldn't eat or drink ANYTHING. I was starting to get worried because all she wanted to do was cuddle and she cried every time she farted/pooped. She hadn't had pee in her diaper for over 6 hours so I decided I wanted to take her to the ER to get checked out.

Long story short, the Dr. said she looked great and suggested we give her Gatorade. The nurse brought her 2 good-sized amounts of Gatorade and she gulped them down and was back to being naughty. We got home, she went to bed and I felt relieved........

.......not for long! At 2:45am I woke up to her screaming and coughing/choking. When I ran in I immediately smelt the puke. (Ugh, seriously!) I yelled at Russ as I grabbed her, went straight to the bathroom and undressed her in the tub. I got her out of her clothes and diaper and filled up the bath. (I called my mom and dad to come over at 3am, I was soooo scared!) She had such a bad bottom rash she was not thrilled about the bath. She wouldn't let me wash the yuck outta her hair so I did the best I could and got her dressed and into bed with Russ. My parents arrived just as I was getting started with cleaning up the mess in her bed. My mom took her and cuddled her as she fell asleep. They insisted I go get some rest and all I did was toss and turn in my bed until Russ was up at 5am to go to work.

It was a nightmare. I was so scared she was sicker than we thought. She slowly progressed Monday and today she was almost back to normal. She is eating, drinking and being her same old stubborn self. :)

Now with the good stuff :)

Kenzie is a chatty girl. She picks up so many new words a day.

  • Cha-Cha (Charlie)
  • Baf (bath)
  • Wocks (rocks)
  • Boots
  • Shoes
  • Nana
  • Papa
  • Mama
  • Dada
  • Jess (for Auntie Jess)
  • Bmm-Bmm (balloon)
  • Niiiiice
  • Gaga (as in Lady Gaga! haha)
  • Yah-Yah (our neighbors dog)
  • ice
  • head
  • eyes
  • socks
  • she can identify all letters and numbers as well :)
(some of her current vocabulary)

The bout of "the flu" was rough but I'd go through it all over again for my baby. (Not that i want her to be sick again.) I can't even count the number of nasty diapers I've changed let alone all the vomit I cleaned up this weekend. :(

Finding Time :)

FAT BOOTH!
I am making time to update this thing.

Clean Kitchen!

We have been living in our new house for a month now and it's still coming together. There are still boxes to go through and a lot of organizing ahead of me. We need a computer desk BADLY! I am currently sitting on the floor and my legs are already falling asleep!

Lets move into the reason I maintain this blog, my Kenzie Rae.

Helping me clean

Lounging
  • She is talking A LOT more! She attempts to say a lot more words and she now says MomMom instead of pointing to her chin. (Signing Mom) She can say most of the letters in the alphabet with a lot of nudging from me :)
  • NO MORE BINKIE! She had only a handful left when we moved in and I was determined to get rid of that thing before her 2nd Birthday, a little more than a month away. She chewed up every one she had left, forcing me to throw them away, so essentially she quit cold turkey. She did fine. I think I needed it more than she did! Haha
  • Potty training is still not something she is interested in. I make her sit on her potty every night before bath time and she smiles and waits like she's gonna pee, then she hops up and climbs into the tub. Nothing. I can't force her, so it's just a waiting game with a little push from me.
  • She has turned into quite the cuddle-bug. She likes to come and sit with anyone and watch her TV shows. She will randomly come up behind me and give me a big squeeze. She gives lots of hugs and kisses.
  • She likes to know what/who everything/everyone is and then she likes to wave to it/him/her and try to say the name we just told her.
  • She makes me laugh so much sometimes I think I'm gonna pee my pants. She is a little comedian. She laughs at herself a lot, especially when she farts.

Being Silly

Little Miss Daredevil

I can't believe my little munchkin will be 2 in 36 days! (or something like that!) I already bought her a Birthday present....We are going to see Yo Gabba Gabba LIVE the day before her Birthday, December 2nd! She is going to have so much fun! I got us floor seats so she will be able to see everything going on up close! :)
Playing in the rain

I on the other hand will be 26....ugh. I can't believe how close I am to 30 already, I still feel like I'm 20 sometimes......

I've got the baby fever hardcore....I need to get another one cut out of me soon (I can't pop one out, thanks Kenz for the C-section), I wanna be done with kids by 30!!! I want to have the option of a third I guess...I dunno, I'm crazy ;)

Doing her FAVORITE alphabet puzzle

Some idiot actually parked like this.
I have the tiny black car (parked PERFECTLY I might add) and I had to climb in the passenger door and maneuver my little Rabbit outta there. I was furious and so close to keying the crap out of it but it was already all banged up so it wouldn't have done any good. Jackass. I wish I would've gotten a better angle, you can't tell how shitty he really parked.

MOVING!

The last week has been CRAZY!

Last Wednesday we signed all our closing papers and last Friday we did our final home-inspection/walk-through and received our KEYS! Because we weren't planning on getting our keys that day we didn't plan on moving. This past week we have been slowly filling up the cars and taking stuff over and putting it away. We got our brand new CAL KING in on Wednesday and I cannot wait to sleep on it!

We are down to the big stuff.....couch, recliner, guest bed, ginormous 65" TV and the ridiculously large/heavy stand it goes on, Kenzie's dresser, our 46" TV that is still in the box, (yay!!) and other dressers!

Moving totally sucks but that fact that we're moving into OUR own HOUSE makes it better :)

I was counting today, this move into our house makes 5 moves in 2 YEARS! I think I'm done moving for at least 5 years! :)

Oh, and this post wouldn't be complete without a picture of my darling princess! <3

Almost Done!!! :)

Kenzie in her new room!

Doing somersaults is her new "thing."

Russ and I will soon be homeowners!

We sign our loan papers on Wednesday the 15th and we have our final walk-through scheduled for Friday the 17th! Hopefully we will be receiving our keys that day too! They told us it could take 48-72 hours for the property to record and officially be ours. I can't even describe how excited I am.

A few weekends ago we went down to RC Willey and bought our first brand-new mattress! This little queen bed we've been sleeping on is killing me. That Cal-King is calling my name. :)

We also had our first experience of impulse-buying. We had been checking out 42"-46" flat-screen tv's for our room and finally came across one we liked. It was a deal at Best Buy that we couldn't pass up once we got there and saw it.
We got a 46" internet tv with an internet blu-ray player for $999.
The TV alone is regularly $1,300 and the blu-ray is about $200. It was too good to pass up! Now I can watch netflix in my room without any added players or boxes.

We decided to hold off on a couch and live there for a while to figure out what we want and what will fit best in our small area. I'm keeping my eye out for a nice dining table and chairs as well. Our little one was perfect for our apartments but I want something a little more accommodating for guests.

Headbands at Target

Bath Time!

Bubbles!

Kenzie successfully sat in her "big girl panties" for a good 30 minutes without an accident. BUT, she refused to go potty after that 30 minutes so she got a diaper back on. The panties have a "liner" in them, they're training panties, but I don't really feel like cleaning pee out of the furniture so we'll just be giving them quick tries :)

Signing Time!

Kenzie LOVES Signing Time!

We have through volume 4 of Dvd's and she watches them non-stop. It's like she's in another world when they're on. She's picked up quite a few signs, I'm impressed.

Playing "dress up like a granny" ;)

She still isn't saying as many words as I'd like her to. My mom and I have come to the conclusion that she knows lots of words, she's just stubborn! I know that sounds totally naive, but really. She is so smart. It's hard to explain, but I know my child, and she's the spitting image of me, attitude and all :)

So, has anyone ever shave off their finger nail with a razor?

Well, I have:
You can't really tell cuz it wouldn't stop bleeding, but that is from shaving off my finger nail. I didn't even know that was possible to do while shaving your legs. Hmm. I learn something new every day!

Well, I don't have much to talk about. I just watched Signing Time and did laundry today. Whoopie!

Here's to my last 3 days of being on the pill! :D

Not quite ready yet....

Potty training is officially on hiatus. Kenzie is SOOOO not ready to be a big girl. We played with the idea for a while and she just isn't interested. I've done my fair share of reading about potty training and rule #1 is to NOT FORCE your child into it. "They will let you know when they are ready."

BUT I'M READY NOWWWWWW!!!

Doesn't that count for anything potty training experts?!?!

I have previously written about Kenzie's need to stick her hands down her pants (poopy pants) and all that disgusting stuff and how I put an end to it with onesies and rompers. Now the onesies and rompers are being used for a different reason. Kenz now knows how to remove her shorts/pants and take off her diaper.

I learned the hard way. She can't ever give me the easy route.

Long story short, my husband walked in on her in her playroom with no bottoms on. He went in to invesitgate and saw a nice pile of POO on the floor, her clean diaper pushed to the side. She had poop on her legs, arms, hands and all over her shirt. GROSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

I threw her in the tub and scrubbed the poop off of her. THANKFULLY my mom cleaned up the rest of the mess. BLEH!

For a while I was seriously considering changing Kenzie's pediatrician but after this weekend I think I wanna stay. This sounds completely LAME but it's me, go figure. While Russ, Kenz and I were out shopping for couches we saw Dr. Carrie. She saw me, got a huge smile on her face and waved and said HIII!!! Now, how many doctors would recognize a patient's parent? I've actually ran into her a few times and she always recognizes me, says hi and asks how we're doing. IDK, that totally did it for me. She is GREAT with Kenzie and she is so easy to talk to. Hook, Line and Sinker. DONE!

This is my baby wearing my glasses. What a goofball :)

Me and the Stinker....she looks thrilled.

OH! I almost forgot our house! I got an email saying that our new home will be completed and ready for our New Home Orientation and delivery September 10th! AHHH! I can't believe it!

This is Kenz testing out the stairs 2 weekends ago :)

emptying my head

I have a rough time falling asleep. always. I have so much running through my head and now I have my cat Charlie cuddling with me.

I have decided to start reading again. The last book I read was Coraline and before that was Breaking Dawn almost 2 years ago when it came out. I am a HUGE Bret Easton Ellis fan and have a few of his books. 3 of his books were made into movies: The Rules of Attraction, American Psycho and Less Than Zero. (all awesome movies btw) He finally came out with a sequel book to Less Than Zero called Imperial Bedrooms and it sounds AMAZING! I am set on going out and buying that book tomorrow! Another one of his books I read in high school was Glamorama. His books are dark and I love it. Sex, drugs and f'ed up lives is what his books are about mostly.

This post is quite boring. This app doesn't do pictures yet. This blog is my outlet since I don't have any friends and my family never let's me get a word in edge wise. I mean, I know I just sit around on my ass all day and eat Bon-bons but I still need some human interaction. Somebody who doesn't scream and throw tantrums every 5 minutes for some reason or another. :(

I guess I'll end it here.

thanks bloggy for always listening to me and not judging me :)

Want a good laugh?

I came across this website and got quite a few laughs and some shaking of the head. It makes me want to go to walmart right now and take some pictures :) j/k

http://www.peopleofwalmart.com

Oh yeah. Kenzie learned how to take off her shorts and diaper and decided to poop on the floor and play with it.

Yep. She did that.

All my years as a Lifeguard at the good 'ol COH Rec centers I got to clean up my fair share of vomit and feces. Nothing prepares you to clean up your own child's shit off the ground and scrub it off their clothes, legs and hands. GROSS!

Although I must say, knowing it is my own child makes it the tiniest, I mean itty-bittiest, lil' bit easier.

Oh Kenz. Never a dull moment.
Potty training can't come soon enough! That incident just sparked my motivation :)

Terrible Two's or just a B-R-A-T?

I don't know what happened to my sweet little angel-baby who liked to laugh and coo. She traded them with screaming and tantrums.
Russ, Kenzie and I took a trip to RC Willey to check out some mattresses and couches for our new house. We put her in the stroller and walked in with the hopes of accomplishing something. I had my purse-turned-diaper bag full of goldfish, apple slices, rice biscuits and a cup of juice. We even kept her shoes off because she can't sit anywhere with her shoes on, she insists on taking them off.
We got to look at the couch we've been eying with only a small disturbance. The juice and apple slices kept her satisfied. We got over to the mattresses and started scoping them out, each taking turns lying on the bed while the other occupied little monster. We narrowed a few down and started chatting and asking questions to the super-nice salesman. (really, he was awesome.) Kenz started to fuss a bit and he mentioned him and his wife were expecting their first baby. I crazily pushed to stroller around to keep her entertained while Russ asked a few more questions, just when I thought I had it all under control she started screaming and crying, flailing herself around and refused to be held. So I let my little red-neck baby run around RC Willey shoeless. Awesome. I'm sure she scared the shit outta the salesman, he's now thinking, "what am I gonna do if my child turns out like this?!?!" There's no turning back now dude.
Kenzie likes to do anything and everything she's not supposed to. She climbs in her cozy coupe on the side with no door. She climbs on the bar stools and from there onto the kitchen island. If she gets in the bathroom she unrolls the entire roll of TP, sticks her hand or any object she is carrying into the toilet. She opens the drawers and pulls out the contents. This is just a fraction of the things she does to make me wanna rip my hair out!

We checked out our house progress yesterday and I'm getting more and more excited!

Landscaping!

Kenz checking out her new tub!

Kenz in the laundry room checking her fly, lol.

Appliances!

The floors will be the last thing installed. They have quite a few touch ups to do still.

It's time for me to get back to laundry and catch up on Big Brother!
Yay for being a Stay At Home Mom! :)

A New Chapter!

I am beginning my first week as a stay-at-home mom! I don't count the 3 months when she was born as a SAHM because it was necessary and temporary. I went back to work a lot later than expected because both Kenz and I had Pertussis(Whooping Cough.) Boo!

So far today has disappointed me. Kenzie's dad let her sleep in until 10am yesterday, therefore throwing off her whole schedule. I am working today to get it back on track and start potty training FOR REALS tomorrow! She has sat on the potty a few times already and had fun putting her hand in the toilet rather than trying to go potty.

I am also trying to recover from my horrible day yesterday. I went to bed Saturday night with a horrendous migraine, which I had already tried to treat with drugs, and got no relief finally falling asleep some time after 12am. I woke up to my alarm at 4am with the same headache. I got ready for work and headed out, the whole time I was driving I was praying I wouldn't spew all over my car. Long story short, I spent some time dry-heaving in the bathroom at work but proceeded to get out there and work my very last shift. It was tough. I was tired, nauseous and my head felt like it was going to explode. My headache eventually went away but I still felt weak and nauseous the rest of the day.

Oh. And NO, I'm not pregnant! :)

I got asked by a co-worker and my husband. Like I've said before, can't a girl be sick without EVERYONE thinking she's PREGNANT!?!?

A baby will be here in about a year....give or take a few months. We're focusing on getting moved into our new house and settling in before we add to our family :)
I can't believe how fast our house was built. It feels like only yesterday we were checking out the model homes and deciding on which one was best for us. We're still missing the landscaping in the front yard.

Our Kitchen counters were put in finally! They look so good and they still have the protective blue film on them! I can't wait for our appliances to be in to see it all tied together.
I am not too fond of the kitchen sink OR the faucet. My first change will in fact be the faucet and hopefully we will be able to get a nice granite sink some day :) But for now, it will do. ;)

This is my adorable little Paige. She has the roughest life ever ;)

I think that's it for now. I am going to try and blog more, hopefully I will have some fun potty training stories to tell in the near future!

Big Bear!

The annual Funk Family Reunion at Big Bear was so much fun! There were so many babies this year and it makes me feel old! This is everyone who came! We're still missing a good chunk :(

This is MY grandma with her great grand children! Blake(8) holding Kenzie(19 Months) Evan(7) and the newest Jade (9 days).

Kenzie was a complete handful! She was constantly running off, almost got hit by a car(I almost had a heart-attack), she didn't nap, eat or drink hardly anything. She woke up 15 times each night and I'm hoping next year will be easier! :) All-in-all I enjoyed being with everyone!

On our way home Russ, Kenzie and I stopped at the Primm outlet mall for some shopping. My wonderful hubs bought me a new Fossil watch and a Fossil Purse! The guy even gave us an extra 10% off because his register wasn't working and we had to wait a few extra minutes! Score! I got some good deals on clothes for the beast and we headed home to check out our HOUSE!

It looks quite amazing, like an actual house now! I can see the light at the end of the tunnel finally. We got our interest rate locked in at an all-time low so we're excited about that as well :)

Ta-da!

Our kitchen and bathroom cabinets are in!

Counters, appliances, flooring, landscaping and some touch-ups and the place will be ours! I can't believe it :D
