Tanner James {photobomb}

I guess now that Tanner will be 2 months old on Monday it's about time for me to update this thing.

10/20/11

Tanner was born on Wednesday August 24th at 12:37pm. He was 7lbs 4oz 20 1/2"

Tanner is growing like a weed. At his first newborn checkup he was 5 days old and was down to 6lbs 14oz. Two weeks later he was at 8lbs 10oz, the following week he was 9lbs 13oz, and at his one month he was up to 10lbs 4oz! He's a great baby, fussy at times, but I think that is because he has a milk allergy. I nurse 100% so I had to cut dairy out of my diet and that made a HUGE difference. He had developed a really bad rash, which his doctor named "baby rash" but it was all over his entire body. Once I was off dairy the rash went away.

We go for Tanner's 2month checkup on Wednesday, I can't wait to see how much he's grown. He loves to "talk" and he smiles all the time, REAL smiles, not reflexes! :) Kenzie had a hard time adjusting at first but now things have been going a little more smoothly. She still refuses to use the potty but she is in swim lessons and is doing awesome. I'll leave that to another post.

Tomorrow!

This belly will be gone tomorrow!! I can't believe its almost here. 24 hours from now I will be in the hospital preparing for surgery and as long as they're on schedule I will be getting cut open around noon. :)

I can't wait to meet my little guy, see his face and finally give him a name! <3

The countdown has started.

I have 9 days left.

NINE!

I am having a scheduled c-section on Wednesday August 24th.

I get to cuddle my little boy in 9 days and I can hardly believe it. Right now he's making me as uncomfortable as he can by stretching out and pushing on my stomach. I love him<3

I've started getting as much done as possible after my 2 1/2 hour stay in the L&D triage  last week. All my lab work came back completely clear and the nurses were confused as to why my doctor sent me in. SUPPOSEDLY my blood pressure was 140/100 at my check-up and after she gave me 3 whole minutes to chill out, surprise surprise, it didn't go down so they insisted I go in and get monitored.

Have I mentioned that my doctor's MA has high blood pressure readings, therefore it's been "high", according to her MA, every freaking time I have gone in. It's so frustrating. I don't have ANYTHING else going on, no swelling, no protein, no vision issues and no headaches. Let me finish cooking this baby without any added stress!!

I am worried at my 38 week appointment on Wednesday they will have me go in again and I am determined to put my foot down. "If you're going to send me to the hospital again I better be delivering this baby, I AM NOT GOING IN FOR MORE MONITORING!" (that's what I want to say if they tell me my BP is high again. We can't afford all these random trips to the hospital because the MA is lazy and doesn't correctly read my BP. Phooey.

Okay, end rant.

I am so completely excited/nervous to be the mom of two. This is going to be quite an experience :)

In the home stretch.

I just passed 35 weeks of carrying this tiny little man in my uterus.

I'm exhausted. I can't sleep. My entire pelvis feels like it is going to break into a million pieces every time I move or even sneeze. I'm completely ready to have my body to myself again. I know it will be a while until I'm back to "normal" but I'm not concerned about that right now.

Kenzie was progressing really well with potty training for a bout a week and then decided she's just not interested. She still goes poop with no problems, she just straight out refuses to pee in the potty. She's a strange one I tell ya. I.can't even remember the last time I changed a poopy diaper, which I am thankful for. I feel like we're more than halfway there so I'm happy.

Our backyard finally got landscaped and we love it. We get to go outside and enjoy the summer without leaving our home. We have a water table and a little blow up swimming pool for Kenz to enjoy and she sure does have a blast back there! :)

I will be 36 weeks on Wednesday and I have a checkup that will.start my weekly checks until I have this little booger. I'm so anxious for her to schedule me for my c-section already so I can kind of have an idea of when he'll be here, I'm sooooooooo excited! :D

30 Weeks!

29Weeks 6Days
I officially hit 30 weeks tomorrow! I can hardly believe it. This pregnancy started off very slow and now that the warm months are here it is flying by. We will get to meet our son in 9 weeks!

I've had some issues with high blood pressure but my doctor has me on medication twice a day and that has kept it more in the normal range. At 25 weeks I was sent to L&D triage to be monitored for my high blood pressure and it has gotten better from there with a few tweaks of my medication dosage.

This little guy is a mover and a shaker. He kicks every so often but he's more of a stretcher and wiggler.

I'm starting to feel the effects of the third trimester in full gear. I am exhausted. I have to pee every 5 minutes and my body is starting to ache. I know I can get through this, it's completely worth it too, and I'm definitely not complaining. I love being pregnant. I'd do it 2 more times if Russ let me ;)

We are STILL working with Kenzie on potty training. She would get the bug up her butt to do it then suddenly lose interest. These last few weeks we have been pretty consistent with trying and she is slowly improving. Today she told me three different times she needed to go so we went in and she did her business, no accidents. I am trying this potty chart now that if she gets 10 stickers a day she gets a special prize. I have stocked up on special dvd's and puzzles for when she can accomplish a day's worth of potty training. In order for her to get a sticker she needs to tell us she needs to go and her panties must be dry, no accidents if she wants a sticker. I think this will help a lot. Wish me luck! :)

Happy First day of Summer!!

More than halfway there at 20weeks!

I'm almost done baking this little baby boy! I can't believe in 19 weeks or less, hopefully not much less, this little stud muffin will be here in my arms. I did a side by side of me pregnant with Kenzie at 20 weeks and one with this little man at 20 weeks, which I just hit yesterday. The picture with me pregnant with Kenzie was right after my breast biopsy. I had a lump removed after the biopsy at 6 months pregnant.
I am feeling really good lately. My lower back has been achy and this little man is lazy, he must be tired from all the growing. I only feel him twice a day, mostly at night when I  am trying to go to bed. Maybe this is a sign that he is going to be a laid back baby. One can only hope :) His kicks are getting stronger but still can't feel them from the outside yet. My regular clothes are just now starting to get snug and I've switched to my maternity jeans to be more comfortable, although they are still a bit big on me. I go for my anatomy scan soon, I'm hoping he's still a boy! :)

It's a...........

                                   BOY!!
We got to see our little boy, who wasn't a bit shy! We saw feet, hands, heartbeat, he sucked his thumb and kept rubbing his head. I can't believe we will have one of each!! :)

Now to start choosing names....

Potty training, a new bed and wash-poo....

Kenzie has been doing GREAT about telling us when she has to go #2. She can tell us right away that she needs to go sit on the potty and does her business right away most of the time. She wants a high-five, sticker and m&m's for doing so too. Pee is a whole different story. I feel like my child does things backwards. She learned how to walk but she wasn't a good crawler, she got around by scooting, not really crawling. Now she can poop like a champ in the potty but doesn't have the desire to go pee. Doesn't make much sense, but we will work on it.

Kenzie's Papa made her a toddler bed. We decided since we are working on potty training that we should start to transition her into a bed...that and with the new baby coming, we wanted to transition before we totally turn her world upside down!
She has slept in her bed every night since she got it. (Last Monday night was the first night.) Nap time was challenging at first but now she knows I mean business.

Wash-poo. This is what Kenzie calls shampoo. It's pretty freaking hilarious to hear her say it too. I guess you have to be there.

She likes to get on her little bounce&spin pony with a hat and yell, "YEEE-HAWW!" I think she's going to be a cowgirl for Halloween this year.

I am 14 weeks on Wednesday! Hello Second Trimester! :)

Letting The Cat Outta The BAG!!!

I can finally say it.......I'm PREGNANT! I've known this since BEFORE Christmas and it took everything in me to keep it a secret, until now!

Russ and I went in for our first ultrasound this morning to verify the pregnancy. I am 12 weeks and 5 days today, right on track! Baby was moving all around and she(the ultrasound lady) was jabbing my belly trying to get it in a good position for pictures. We got four really good ones. We saw the hands, arms, legs, feet, back, belly and head. We heard the heartbeat, a nice strong 153.

According to the age of the baby I'm due August 31st but because I am having a repeat c-section he/she will be here before that. I'm extremely excited. Kenzie can say "Big Sister!" She gets excited when I ask if she's going to be a big sister and she tells me there is a baby in my belly, a teeny, tiny baby.

We ARE planning on finding out the sex of the baby. Will we share that info? I don't know yet but we aren't sharing any name ideas. We want there to be SOME surprise in the whole matter. :)

New Year, New Milestones :)

This last month has literally flown by. Christmas came and went so quickly I can barely believe it. Kenzie turned 2 and 9 days later I turned 26.

That weekend of my Birthday we had our annual Family X-mas party for my mom's side of the family. My uncles, aunt and cousins came to Vegas from all over Cali for the event. It was a fun-filled weekend of drinking and college-esque drinking games, SO much fun! I even got to see my cousin Brooke who I haven't seen in about 10 years. (it's a long story....) She's so grown up and going to college, the last time I saw her she was 8 or 9!

We took a trip to OV Magical Forest. It was fun but VERY crowded!

We took Kenz to see Santa at Town Square during the rainy week and she wasn't havin' it. She yells "Clause, Clause!" and sounds excited to see him and when we get there she can't get away fast enough! We met Liz and Lily there for Lily's Birthday and went to lunch. The girls walked around with umbrellas that were as big as they were, it was too cute!

Christmas was quiet. Kenzie got lots and lots of stuff. I got lots and lots of stuff. We got to spend time with family and it was nice. Christmas just isn't the same when you're an adult. Kids are fun to have at Christmas, but Kenzie still doesn't really understand. She was great at opening gifts but I'm hoping next year she will understand more.
X-mas Eve
X-mas Morning with her Grinch

For New Years we hung out with my Mom, Dad and Gram at their house. We had dinner, played with Kenzie and watched Inception. At midnight we watched the fireworks on the news, finished our movie and then went to bed. New Years day my cousin Brooke was in town so she came over and hung out for a bit.

We got to go outside and experience the little bit of snow that we got here in Mountain's Edge.

We officially started potty training today! YAAAAYYYYY!
It just randomly started today during a potty trip and she followed me in and said she had to go! From there I decided to let her wear her training panties. (the funky white ones with super lining in them) I set her potty chair out in the living room and she just went over to the potty, pulled down her trainers and went! The kicker is she did it all on her own will and she did it numerous times for about 2-3 hours. :) I'm so proud of her progress so far!

Yes bedhead. Yes X-mas jammies, she still fits in them! ;)

We have been fighting sleep issues A LOT lately with Kenzie. She either doesn't want to go to sleep and throws an hour long tantrum OR she wakes up every freaking hour all night long. Either way it ends up in sleepless night for me and less sleep for Russ. Not cool. She has had a stuff nose and I think that has something to do with it. It's just ridiculous how all the cold med they make for children are: Under 4, DO NOT USE. Seriously? I resorted to an allergy medicine that is safe for 2 year olds that causes drowsiness....not very helpful. She still wakes up a bajillion times. Now I have a sore throat and I'm exhausted and my sleep schedule is all outta whack. I even went without giving her a nap today. 8 o'clock rolled around and she was jumping off the walls....I WISH I HAD THAT ENERGY RIGHT NOW!!!!

I mean, it is midnight and I'm up blogging when I could be sleeping, but then I wouldn't have anything to complain about, would I?!? ;)
