Terrible Two's or just a B-R-A-T?

I don't know what happened to my sweet little angel-baby who liked to laugh and coo. She traded them with screaming and tantrums.
Russ, Kenzie and I took a trip to RC Willey to check out some mattresses and couches for our new house. We put her in the stroller and walked in with the hopes of accomplishing something. I had my purse-turned-diaper bag full of goldfish, apple slices, rice biscuits and a cup of juice. We even kept her shoes off because she can't sit anywhere with her shoes on, she insists on taking them off.
We got to look at the couch we've been eying with only a small disturbance. The juice and apple slices kept her satisfied. We got over to the mattresses and started scoping them out, each taking turns lying on the bed while the other occupied little monster. We narrowed a few down and started chatting and asking questions to the super-nice salesman. (really, he was awesome.) Kenz started to fuss a bit and he mentioned him and his wife were expecting their first baby. I crazily pushed to stroller around to keep her entertained while Russ asked a few more questions, just when I thought I had it all under control she started screaming and crying, flailing herself around and refused to be held. So I let my little red-neck baby run around RC Willey shoeless. Awesome. I'm sure she scared the shit outta the salesman, he's now thinking, "what am I gonna do if my child turns out like this?!?!" There's no turning back now dude.
Kenzie likes to do anything and everything she's not supposed to. She climbs in her cozy coupe on the side with no door. She climbs on the bar stools and from there onto the kitchen island. If she gets in the bathroom she unrolls the entire roll of TP, sticks her hand or any object she is carrying into the toilet. She opens the drawers and pulls out the contents. This is just a fraction of the things she does to make me wanna rip my hair out!

We checked out our house progress yesterday and I'm getting more and more excited!

Landscaping!

Kenz checking out her new tub!

Kenz in the laundry room checking her fly, lol.

Appliances!

The floors will be the last thing installed. They have quite a few touch ups to do still.

It's time for me to get back to laundry and catch up on Big Brother!
Yay for being a Stay At Home Mom! :)

A New Chapter!

I am beginning my first week as a stay-at-home mom! I don't count the 3 months when she was born as a SAHM because it was necessary and temporary. I went back to work a lot later than expected because both Kenz and I had Pertussis(Whooping Cough.) Boo!

So far today has disappointed me. Kenzie's dad let her sleep in until 10am yesterday, therefore throwing off her whole schedule. I am working today to get it back on track and start potty training FOR REALS tomorrow! She has sat on the potty a few times already and had fun putting her hand in the toilet rather than trying to go potty.

I am also trying to recover from my horrible day yesterday. I went to bed Saturday night with a horrendous migraine, which I had already tried to treat with drugs, and got no relief finally falling asleep some time after 12am. I woke up to my alarm at 4am with the same headache. I got ready for work and headed out, the whole time I was driving I was praying I wouldn't spew all over my car. Long story short, I spent some time dry-heaving in the bathroom at work but proceeded to get out there and work my very last shift. It was tough. I was tired, nauseous and my head felt like it was going to explode. My headache eventually went away but I still felt weak and nauseous the rest of the day.

Oh. And NO, I'm not pregnant! :)

I got asked by a co-worker and my husband. Like I've said before, can't a girl be sick without EVERYONE thinking she's PREGNANT!?!?

A baby will be here in about a year....give or take a few months. We're focusing on getting moved into our new house and settling in before we add to our family :)
I can't believe how fast our house was built. It feels like only yesterday we were checking out the model homes and deciding on which one was best for us. We're still missing the landscaping in the front yard.

Our Kitchen counters were put in finally! They look so good and they still have the protective blue film on them! I can't wait for our appliances to be in to see it all tied together.
I am not too fond of the kitchen sink OR the faucet. My first change will in fact be the faucet and hopefully we will be able to get a nice granite sink some day :) But for now, it will do. ;)

This is my adorable little Paige. She has the roughest life ever ;)

I think that's it for now. I am going to try and blog more, hopefully I will have some fun potty training stories to tell in the near future!

Big Bear!

The annual Funk Family Reunion at Big Bear was so much fun! There were so many babies this year and it makes me feel old! This is everyone who came! We're still missing a good chunk :(

This is MY grandma with her great grand children! Blake(8) holding Kenzie(19 Months) Evan(7) and the newest Jade (9 days).

Kenzie was a complete handful! She was constantly running off, almost got hit by a car(I almost had a heart-attack), she didn't nap, eat or drink hardly anything. She woke up 15 times each night and I'm hoping next year will be easier! :) All-in-all I enjoyed being with everyone!

On our way home Russ, Kenzie and I stopped at the Primm outlet mall for some shopping. My wonderful hubs bought me a new Fossil watch and a Fossil Purse! The guy even gave us an extra 10% off because his register wasn't working and we had to wait a few extra minutes! Score! I got some good deals on clothes for the beast and we headed home to check out our HOUSE!

It looks quite amazing, like an actual house now! I can see the light at the end of the tunnel finally. We got our interest rate locked in at an all-time low so we're excited about that as well :)

Ta-da!

Our kitchen and bathroom cabinets are in!

Counters, appliances, flooring, landscaping and some touch-ups and the place will be ours! I can't believe it :D

Decorating and New Toys!

I cannot wait until I can start counting down the days left at my "joke of a job." It's really starting to get to me. Russ and I decided I will put my notice in for the end of August. Our house is supposed to be done soon after that! I can have time to organize our crap and get ready to move in and be a home-maker! I've been trying to think up some decorating ideas in my spare time.

I've given up on Yo Gabba Gabba for Kenzie's room theme. It's to effing expensive!

  1. You CANNOT find anything Yo Gabba Gabba anywhere but online.
  2. They want $4o for a flippin' beach towel!?
  3. The bedding set and a separate blanket is the extent of affordable items.

Sometimes I hate that she is so obsessed with that show. That is the one and only thing she will watch. I have tried Wonder Pets, Backyardigans, Wow Wow Wubbzy, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Handy Manny, Chuggington.....Nothing.

This is what I have decided on. Tink.
She is cute and girly and you can go almost anywhere to find it!
I think I am gonna stick to green walls and accent with purples and white. I am completely clueless when it comes to decorating, this will be an experience! I have no clue what to do with an entire house! YIKES!

We took Kenzie to Toys R Us last night to pick out a few things. Since she is so into drawing we got her an easel!

The opposite side has a white board that she can use her magnets on! We can also attach paper, mainly color wonder paper, to draw with!

We had a hard time deciding between the Cozy Coupe and the Radio Flyer Bike.
This bike is pretty awesome. The bar in the middle adjusts so she could continue to ride as she grows. The front panel has blinkers, a "radio" and a horn. She LOVES it, but we went with the Cozy Coupe. Maybe we will try the bike in a few months!

She tested this thing out.
I told her I'd think about it. ;)

This is our house as of LAST Sunday the 4th!

I am extremely excited for next weekend. We have our annual Funk Family Reunion. (It's my mom's-mom's sisters and their kids, grandkids and great grandkids!)It's been going on for many years now and our generations continue to grow, it's my absolute favorite time of the year, after Christmas of course! We go to Big Bear every July and rent out cabins in a lodge. We hang out and chat, play card games, sports and eat lots of food! I LOVE LOVE LOVE my extended family!

And I am going to end this incredibly worthless post with a video of my babe doing some of her sign language :)

Diapers and Bargains

The first thing on my mind right now is that stupid Huggies Jeans diaper commercial! Every time that thing comes on Kenzie runs into the room or drops what she's doing to watch it. Maybe she has a crush on the boy who, in my opinion, is too old to go without pants....

I think I saw that commercial 15 times TODAY! Damn TLC for playing it too much!

I bought this awesome carrier at the PPB surprise outlet sale this morning. (Yes, I am already preparing for another peanut even though we are months away from trying for one!)
It was on sale for $65 originally $110! I thought it was a steal and I HAD to have it! :) I got my current PPB Touring Tote for $44 when they're originally $145! I can't pass up a good bargain when I see one.

I found Kenzie in the hallway reading books after lunch time.
It's because her play room looked like this:
These are all her toys in this room....
And these are her toys in the living room:

This is Kenzie mad at me for not letting her have my phone because I was trying to take a picture of her.

Now that she's napping and I blogged I better go get myself cleaned up....I just got called into work, gotta be there at 5 since I have to wait for the hubby to get home. The nerve of someone to have their SIBLING call in sick for them 2 minutes AFTER their shift started. What is with today's youth? No work ethic AT ALL!.
If you're feeling like a Starbucks bev, come visit me at St. Rose & Seven Hills, the best one around! :) I promise I make OUTSTANDING beverages for NICE people!

I was going to try and catch up on True Blood since I am now 2 WEEKS BEHIND! AHHH! It's eating at me, I just might have to watch without the hubs tomorrow......

Oh yeah. This is what our house looks like now!!!

This is the inside, all dry wall!

I'm so excited! It's not the house of my dreams but it is a HOUSE! It will be perfect for us for the next few years until we can afford the house of our dreams! :)

Potty Messes and Rompers

I'm sitting here writing this blog while listening to my stubborn little monster who is refusing to take a nap. She's babbling and giggling...maybe the cat Charlie is in there visiting her....oh well!

Today I bought a plethora of rompers for Kenzie. Why you ask? I can answer that.

Yesterday I got her dressed all cute in her adjustable waistband shorts (12-18 months and 4 slots in the waistband) from the gap and a cute blue/turquoise tank.
**I feed my child, she's just freakishly skinny, I swear!**
She was busy in her play room and she was too quiet so I went in to check on her. She had her hand down her pants, like usual, and the room smelt like poop. I yelled at her to take her hand out and she did just that, looked at her hand and proceeded to wipe it on her shirt. Poop. She wiped poop on her shirt!!!! Seriously Kenzie?? I thought only boys played with their crotches and their own poop!
Rompers are the best way to keep her hands out of her areas and keep her looking stylish. My husband thinks I should just dress her in onesies 24/7. That's okay for an infant, but not an 18 month old!
(I know, I'm snobby.)
The second poop story is similar to the first. She had her hand in her pants and I yelled at her to take it out...she proceeded to run over to me(I was sitting on the floor) and put her poop covered hand on MY FACE!!! I didn't know she had pooped so I was incredibly surprised and disgusted. It was a frenzy after that. I made Russ grab her hands while I ran and scrubbed my face off.

Seven rompers for each day of the week. Nice.

Yesterday afternoon we were practicing potty time. She ran in and sat on her chair then switched to the ring on the big potty. She sat there for a good 5 minutes and got up. ( I had the water running in the sink and a book for her to read.) I got on and showed her me going potty and she wasn't interested. She ran over by to door and proceeded to pee on the floor and stomp in it like a rain puddle.

We will try again another day, when my patience returns. :)

Here's another picture from the past that I love<3

Anniversary and Boring-ness

I have nothing to write about really. Nothing exciting anyway. I spend way much time on my iPhone playing Battleship. It's addicting.I have sank 316 ships at 5 ships per game. Sad.

I'm usually on Word With Friends but I need the new version and Russ needs to fix my jailbreak. So I'm stuck playing battleship or Where's Waldo.

We did a walk-through with the superintendent on Friday and our house is passing inspections and looking awesome!

Kenzie likes to be outside.

My cats make me sick.
Paige on the Left. Charlie on the right.

They lounge and sleep all day long. Sometimes in my bed. They cry ALL THE TIME. They are spoiled rotten. Cats. Spoiled. Ugh.

Russ and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary yesterday along with Father's Day. I worked in the morning and had a nice evening with my sis, sister-in-law, mom, dad, Russ and Kenzie. The whole Fam (my favorite times). We made our own personal pizzas for dinner and chatted. Russ and I went out to dinner Saturday night just the two of us. It was heaven!

You take for granted going out to dinner until you have a child and that luxury is gone. A hot meal. I had a nice glass of blackberry sangria and I got to sip it, enjoy it. I wasn't flustered and I wasn't in need of another deodorant application like I am with Kenzie around. :) All-in-all I had a nice weekend and now it's back to the weekly grind. Doing nothing. Absolutely nothing.

I think I am going to sign Kenz up for swim lessons, mainly for my sanity. I need to get out of the house and talk to other moms and other people who can talk back to me!!
I need some sun too. I am incredibly pasty. Yuck.

I think that's all the "excitement" I can handle for today.

I wanna squeeze her. I miss this age :(
